The polystyren cutter is designed for countersinking holes for insulation plugs with a diameter of 65 mm into polystyrene insulation. The tool is used to countersink the hole for the facade dowel for so-called flush mounting when the dowel head is embedded in the insulation. After anchoring the façade dowel, the subsequently countersunk hole with the façade dowel is covered with an insulating plug. To avoid destroying the tool, do not use for drilling material that is already surface-treated with a trowel or plaster. The tool is not suitable for countersinking holes in extruded polystyrene and mineral wool. When using this method of insulation, you will achieve better thermal insulation properties, mainly because breaking the thermal bridge will reduce heat loss.
